Anyways, in terms of the original topic, Obama felt the need to apologize for the remark and not answering her question, and he did. But he never did get around to answering that reporter's "tough question", and that's the most important aspect to this story in my opinion and hers.

I've also done my share of jobs like waitressing, and Obama's delivery and his tone of the "sweetie" remarks was indeed very demeaning and quickly dismissive. Ole GW Bush does much the same thing at his press conferences also. He just skips using the term "sweetie" but his tone and intent are exactly the same. I guess there won't be that much change coming if Obama wins this November.

Lots of men who like to charm use sweetie. Lots of woman who liked to be charmed appreciate sweetie. Other men don't use it and other woman don't like it. I know lots of woman who get upset when other woman get their panites bunched up over what many consider normal and time tested male/female relationships. I have no doubt that most men would pick up in no time who to never try to charm, and our the ones who don't like it. I can tell who in here to just say hello to and then to git er done with what ever reason I needed to interact with and go on to somenone else.

Perhaps it is the extreme of those hate supposed sexism and the extreme of those who hate supposed racism that turned people off against Hillary and Obama in the primaries. Is it possible that the PC of the womans movement hurt Hillary enough to cost her the primary and it almost did Obama end. So once again the White guy wins?

As a man, I know I would probably respond favorably to any woman who called me "sweetie" or "handsome." I wouldn't be offended in the least.

Unfortunately, I'm ugly -- so they would probably be lying.
