Obama, Clinton and even President Bush allow the media to varying degrees.

Quote:
The explanation from Bush's spokeswoman was that the White House was deferring to McCain's campaign.

"Our practice has been for fundraisers that the president does, if they're at a venue like a hotel, that they are open to press," press secretary Dana Perino said. "The McCain campaign has a practice that's different, and that is that all of their fundraisers, regardless of location, are closed to the press. And so to accommodate the practices, they decided to move it to a private residence today."
Why would the guy whose made a name for himself on campaign finance reform change his toon now?

Probably because the media warps pretty much every story they get their hands on. And since most media outlets support Obama, none of them would ever show any respect towards McCain, that is just the way things are. McCain was also against 'playing dirty' with advertisements, even though Obama does it to him. One of the things I've always noticed is that Democrats throw way more advertisements at you than Republicans.

Me thinks that McCain wants future derailments in his "straight talk" express to be silent.

Sort of like wanting zero percent fed rates, like the Fed was like JCPenney's and zero percent means things are on sale
Sort of like being able to walk around unescorted with little to no body armor
Sort of like lying about the WSJ article where he said he didn't know much about the economy.

Obama did the same thing in san fransco but someone snuck in a recorder and taped it. Pretty embarassing what was taped. The same thing happened to BillClinton . Seems that they are use toi the old rules were their were not any spies feeding the media.
