Many of us on these threads likely have in some way or another been involved with a particular national candidate's campaign. Whether it was contributing money, volunteering at the phone banks to get out the vote or putting up signs in your community.

This thread asks you to share what you have done for presidential candidates and or their parties over the years, including this one and whether the experience was worth it.

Would you do it again, if not for the same party or candidate, then for a different one?

Is donating money to a campaign, big or small, worth it?

Have you ever worked for a particular campaign and on election day changed your vote? Be honest.
This all in fun with no slams against particular candidates intended.

I'll start. For the record I gave small amounts of money to both of Bush's campaigns in 2000 and 2004, much to my regret. I also volunteered as a precinct delegate in my county for Bush both those cycles. I have so far donated to the Obama campaign and may do so again depending on who he names as a running mate. However I will not volunteer. No time. I found my experience in 2000 and 2004 at the time rewarding to a point. However I found that once you did one evening at the phones, the campaign either wanted you to spend more nights at the phones or doing something else. I found this to be a turn off and after my precinct delegate stint, which required a lot more work, I vowed not to do any more volunteering.
As for donating money to a campaign, while my donations have all be small I believe it was more of a symbolic gesture to show my support for a candidate and that to me is good enough.

I've attended fund raising dinners for a number of candidates over the years. I rarely donate money other than that.

In my high school years I used to volunteer to stuff envelopes, but haven't been to an envelope stuffing party in years. Do they even do that anymore? I won't call people or go door to door, however. I think that's intrusive.

I've sometimes written Letters to the Editor. They rarely get printed, though.

I like to help out at the polling booths on election day.

I'll probably get more active now that I'm retired.
