Does anyone really believe that the 'powers that be' will ever allow Obama to be elected?

Great question, but how will we ever know?

We could watch McCain's "chosen" running mate and cabinet.

And Obama's too

Default Good question!

I think that may all rely on whether or not Obama means what he says. If he really intends to try and implement his plans for change and try and rid politics of corporate corruption then probably not. On the other hand, he may already be in the pockets of the string-pullers. If he is then I am sure he has as good a chance as any to win. Because in the end, all the elite care about is being in control. Personally, I hope Ron Paul tombstones all of them and sweeps every state in the union. But if there is one guy they definately don't want in office, its Ron Paul!

As Tim Russert said - a guy with only 4 years in the Senate, with an unprivileged background, and an African-American who beat the Clinton machine. That alone is a phenomenal accomplishment.
