I see you are young bright, black, smart mouthed with a great diverse gene pool. Good for you. I know your parents are proud and continue the good work and make them beam even more.

Purple is a sign of royalty and she probably felt that way as well. She must have felt like a queen knowing that her husband was the nominee, a shining star for the people, and a powerhouse for the masses. GIVES ME CHILLS!!

I think people would be reading messages into the color of her dress no matter what she wore.

My mom shakes her head at me a lot. I think she's shocked by some of the things that come out of my mouth. I tried to tell her"Mom, it's not the things that come out, but the things that go in that you should worry about"

Then I had to wait for her to stop chasing me with the broom to tell her I meant chocolate balls you know Whoppers. I eat them all the time.

I'm Natalay and I'm a Whopperholic.

Purple makes me think of Barney. Maybe Michelle was sending Hillary a subliminal message "your campaign extinct"

Wow, my Grandmother (father's mother) was South Asian (Bengali...from around Calcutta, India); yet I look like the "standard" Black American in every way (deep brown skin, thick mouth and nose, thick unruly hair). Both of my maternal grandparents also had Native American grandparents; in fact, my Grandfather's facial features and hair show this strongly. But again...I didn't get those genes. All the African-type genes just melded together and created me .

Thats how we became black people - no one had the time to list all the ethnic backgrounds. Almost every black family I know claims to have some Native American genes in the mix somewhere down the line.
