I thought one of the requirements for obtaining a United States passport is a birth certificate.

Yes you need a birth certificate for a passport, but to be a president of the USA, you have to be born on US soil. You are disqualified from running for president if you are not born in US or US army base.

The citizenship of McCain was verified by congress because he was born in Panama (on us navy base). Some Democrats made a big deal of this.

He was born in HI in 1961.

He is eligible to run for President.

What exactly do you think he is hiding? Do you think he was secretly born in Iran and has managed to conceal it this whole time?

Barack was born in Honolulu at Kapiolani Hospital. Hawai'i was a state at the time.
