Wow.. yet another example as to why the Democrats should be voting for McCain.. he's a spender..

p.s. I wonder how the total was calculated because Obama has proposed $1Trillion a year in new spending, over a 10 year period thats $10,000,000,000,000 in new spending, and if the WSJ is estimating that only $1.3Trillion deficit, that leaves $8.7 Trillion unaccounted for. If its in taxes, that means $870,000,000,000 in new taxes yearly and not even the rich make that..

Why is no one looking long term? Social Security and Medicare won't be able to sustain themselves within a few years, maybe a decade? By 2040, we'll be spending almost all of our taxes just to pay for these two programs. Yet McCain wants to continue the Iraq occupation and Obama wants to give people free health care and will most likely continue the war regardless of what he says on his website.
Yup, per a previous thread.

We are screwed

Nice try but if we did that, then we would actually have proof that they didn't care if we voted in the first place. They would just place who they wanted where, and that would be it. Or, the government officials would have an election pot-luck dinner and have a $5.00 a pop presidential raffle. Whoever has the most tickets in the fishbowl wins the presidency. What fun!!!

What I find extremely interesting is
Sen. Obama, plan
Those at the lowest end of the income scale -- making between $19,740 and $38,980 -- would benefit the most, with their after-tax income going up by 5.5%
The wealthiest Americans -- those in the top 1% of the income group -- would see their after-tax income decrease by 8.79% or $115,974.

Sen. McCain's plan, the study found that Wealthy Americans would benefit the most, with those making between $169,480 and $237,040 seeing their after-tax income increase by 3% or $6,264. The biggest benefit flows to those in the top 0.1% -- with incomes above $2.8 million -- who would see their tax bills decrease by $269,364 or 4.4% of income. Those at the lower end of the income scale would also see a modest tax cut, with their after-tax income increasing by 0.2% or $19.

Am I missing something here? If you are honestly being patriotic (not wearing it on your lapel only) that is looking out for what is best for our country.
Obama's plan seems to be a no brainer?
yes / No

That's the way I understood it but many people keep telling me "no, that's not right" but they never can tell me what is right (according to them) this is probably the first time in my life where someone told me I had the wrong answer but didn't tell me the right one. I hope no one here is a teacher.

"okay then what is it? Hello? hello? Hey lady!"

I wonder what would happen if the majority went to the voting booth and did not pull a lever.. i.e. over 50% majority voted for no one..

I wonder where all the RINO sellout McCain apologists are to defend the disgraceful geezer?

Not that I particularly like Obama, but I've told people about McCain's hyperinflationary bent. He'd likely try to grow the economy out of debt by spending more and lowering taxes simultaneously. That's how hyperinflation begins...

NOTHING is worse than hyperinflation, even economic depression or (gasp) socialism. Starving old people. Children literally playing with money as toys and people burning them for warmth. Debtors rejoice, and savers suffer.

One thing to admire about McCain is that he does not pretend to know anything about the economy, not that this is a good thing in a President, as evidenced by the current office holder . . .

On top of this who is more likely to use government services? The peopl who actually pay for them don't even qualify for many of those programs.
