Does she know that Barack Obama, according to his book "Dreams of My Father" was born six months after he says his parents were maried. No
marriage certificate exists in the state of Hawaii for Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Hussein Obama. According to a friend of Stanley Ann, she and Obama never had a legal marriage but she gave her bastard son the biological father's name.
She doesn't support Barack Obama. She supported Romney as a candidate. She likely supports McCain over Obama, but with her nose pinched tightly at the polls.
The Democratic party isn't even all that liberal. The Dems and Republicans are pretty close to one another on the political spectrum. There was a time when there was an active Socialist party here in the US. Those days are long gone. Few mainstream Dems support socialism. Furthermore, they're not gay or atheist. They're not in favor of doing away with the military and spending all the money on education. Organized labor feels abandoned. Kucinich can't get any inertia with his move to impeach. The party elite on both sides both strive to appear moderate.
Policy-wise, the dems aren't so liberal.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying I support doing any of the above. I'm just pointing out some facts.

In addition, practical people don't give a hoot if the president has 20 bastard children and 5 wives. If they are all business all the time and GET THE JOB DONE, that's all that really matters. Bush took way too many vacations and therefore was way too unproductive for folks like her.

What?! Did you forget all the hoopla when Bill Clinton got his bj? That was just a bj, I can't imagine someone sneaking by with 20 bastards & 5 wives.
I think Americans want a (real or imagined) puritanical aspect to their candidate. Otherwise, Jack Kennedy would have been publicly bragging about sleeping with Marilyn Monroe.
Remember all the stink about Romney being a Mormon - "does he condone polygamy ??" I don't think we'll see a polygamist president anytime soon...

I know what the American people want in terms of morality and religion.
That's part of the reason they can have blinders on while we swim in $10T of debt.
I am only suggesting that we elect a candidate who will get the job done and not focus on some sort of morality bent.

There are socialists in the U.S. [even though Republicans anachronistically say “Communists” . The Green party promotes a system followed by most of Europe w/ emphasis on:
- universal health care
- affordable housing
- heavy investment in schools & youth programs -[including sports/ music/ enrichment after-school programs
- gay marriage/total separation of church & state
- strong focus on renewable resources/air & water quality
- stronger support for United Nations & developing countries
- birth control
- cooperative business of labor & management mutual investments
- control & elimination of all nuclear weapons
The Green party are basically former Democrats who vote for fellow Greens onto school board/city councils/county supervisors, etc. but now vote overwhelmingly Democrat in national elections [there will never be another 2000 election Ralph Nader division of Greens & Democrats. Green took lots of criticism.
San Francisco & coastal northern California have a strong Green presence but even Orange county has elected Greens serving. LA city council has one Green, one Republican & 13 Democrats

Good point. That's the Green Party. Strong distinction between them and the mainstream Democrats, towards whom this thread is directed.
