Are there any message boards out there where people can discuss the issues like grown-ups? I am looking for boards where people don't post about "Barack Hussein Obama" the "Muslim" to try to stir up race hatred, or use names to describe either candidate. If you could post or PM me, I would really appreciate it.

Will be tough to find. These folks work together and use different names on different sites. They post inflammatory thread names without anything to support them and take turns responding to keep them on the top of the list. They assume you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer and when you see the headline enough you will believe it. Also it prevents what you are seeking. Now of course they will may or may not respond to this. In addition if they don't like what a thread says they will avoid it like the plague hoping it moves down the list so they can put moves the ones they like up. Have you noticed that some of them get up early and respond to the titles they like so when most folks check in they see the same headings again?

I'm going to vote "No," unless it's something so strictly factual and on-the-issues we may not even be allowed access to it, or it's heavily moderated, which would be self-defeating.

I'm just glad to see that there haven't been any "Obama is the AntiChrist" threads here, like I have seen on other boards. I can respect a different oppinion, but, geez people, come on.

I like CD and every once in awhile you run across a thread where the majority of the posts are sensible. By now I'm sure we've all discovered who the crazies are that post random things like "HI's not a state" or "Obama supporters are all on welfare" and pretty much ignore all of their posts.

Other than that, I've learned quite a bit from CD - and I mean that in seriousness - and with my work schedule, I rarely have time to talk politics with my friends so I love all the different perspectives I find here.

Awww, we should so have a CD election party in November...who's hosting?

Now you see the same problem I have. I don't care of people disagree with me, but can't it be discussed above the level of a 5th grader?

There is often great discussion in here surrounded by the clatter. When a good one gets going often folks will attempt to take it in another direction. You don't have to respond to the other direction posters. No one will know you read their post unless you respond. Just respond to those having the conversation that motivates you. It is called selective responses and is a favorite of serious posters on here.

this board needs an ignore function. Theres plenty of posters who add nothing of value, and Im better off just not even wasting my time reading their keyboard vomit.
