You have to look at the venue that they speak in. McCain does not rent out large stadiums. His supporters seem to know he has flaws and don't put him up on a pedal stool like Obamas supporters . And I could not resist this one-a lot of rallies are held in the day when people are at work. But we all know what kind of person a large part of the democratic base is don't we.

Oh also people just want to make history. Obama will get many votes just because he is not a white man and people want to say "I voted in the first black president"

Never underestimate the power that empty symbolism has for insecure people, or those who need to feel part of something "bigger" than themselves. It's symptomatic of living in a large and complex society where the individual often feels insignificant.

I say, let them have it. But don't let them disillusion themselves too much.

Hmmm, you're saying large crowds don't show up because he doesn't have enough foresight to rent big enough stadiums? I'd rethink this defense--it makes McCain's employees appear incompetent.

He comes off looking better if you go for the more likely explanation: He doesn't rent big stadiums because a small crowd looks bad when there are hundreds of empty seats. At least this explanation makes him look like a smart and realistic planner.

So why not hold rallies on the weekend? Or at night?

That's ok by me, all votes count no matter why they are cast.

Really, who in their normal functioning mind would wanna go to a McCain event? And listen to what?? "my friends", "the fundamentals", "our values"...."my friends" again and again and again. John McCain is as boring as 50 cents was before he started working with Dr. Dre.

I agree, who would want to go and see mccain talk. but on the other hand, who would want to go see obama speak? more fluff in a younger package? simple fact is john mccain=status quo. barack obama=status quo. anyone who stands in line to hear the same BS the government has been feeding us for 100 years is a pathetic person who needs psychological therapy.

Face it, it's hard for McCain supporters to get around, seeing as many of them have to escape from the local nursing home.

Obama inspires, McCain is depressing. I don't understand why anybody would vote for the sickly war mongering geezer, let alone go see him.

So the people who the kind who are the democratic base are out fundraising the hard working wealthy Republican base? Are they looting their homes while the Republicans are at work and turning the money in to head Hoodie Obama?

From CNN:
It's not an easy decision, and especially because I support a robust system of public financing of elections," Obama wrote. "But the public financing of presidential elections as it exists today is broken, and we face opponents who've become masters at gaming this broken system."

Obama repeatedly broke campaign fundraising records during the Democratic primary season. Since January 2007, he has raised more than $272 million.

Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, raised less than half that amount, roughly $100 million, over the same period.

Wow are there police reports being turned in to report this redribution of wealth ( nice word for looting) that is occuring during the day and being funneled to the Obama money laundering scheme. Is that the October surprise? Obama indicted for money laundering?

obama inspires all kinds of androids to come listen to his warmongering hate speech. how proud you must be. I wonder who he wants to invade first. obama draws crowds for a couple reasons. 1. his supporters are pathetic people who have nothing better to do. 2. after 8 years of bush, people will go out and listen to kermit the frog.
