I heard that sentence this week on tv and thought it was a good one to say to actors who think we the average people can't decide for ourself...

Laura Ingraham wrote the book "Shut up and Sing". That was right around the time the Dixie Chicks opened their mouths.

I agree, though. If I go to a concert I don't want to hear about their politics. Same with actors. Big mouths like Penn and Robbins and Sarendon have given their careers the kiss of death because of their politics.

She just used that phrase on her new show, Just In with Laura Ingraham. She's a hoot! And very entertaining.

So somehow if you have talent; acting, singing, juggling, or just being a blond bimbo with a law degree, you shouldn't be allowed to express your opinion. This is the same Laura Ingraham who spent much of her earlier career defending the lies of Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings, WITHOUT BOTHERING TO DO ANY RESEARCH, and then found out he was lying!

So maybe we should shout; shut up and do whatever it is you're supposed to be good at; stripping, pole dancing, cause her writing is not great shakes.

Sorry I don't have the reference immediately at hand. IIRC "Blinded by the Right" (which I'm sure you won't believe) as well as a couple of other sources did come up with either the records from, or the owner of the video store, showing that, in fact, he had rented many of the "porno" tapes that he denied.

Upon hearing this; Laura Ingraham said, "OMG he actually did do what he said he hadn't" (not an exact quote). It's been reported that for a time she was a bit put out with him for that. But then she probably realized the big money and publicity (ego gratification) for her was in getting on the neo-con/theo-con bandwagon.

I realize this will not be considered "proof" for you or many other posters here.

I would love for actors and entertainers to shut up and do what they do best .... act and entertain.

And most of all, if they threaten to leave the country if their candidate doesn't win, I wish they would just leave! Sort of affects their credibility when the don't.

Ya, Penn and Robbins and Sarendon all had their careers tank and now live in homeless shelters and spend their days begging for food
