Default Great article on Obama

Right Side News - Obama Wants to End World Poverty on Your Nickel and Surrender the United States to the UN

Quote:
The Global Poverty Act (S.2433) would require the United States to spend $845 billion ($845,000,000,000.00) on welfare to third-world countries. This amounts to a tax of over $2,000 on each man, woman and child in the United States. The foreign aid budget now stands at $300 billion; the Act would add the additional expenditure to the already huge amount allocated to assist the world.

But we have to provide aid to people over there, so we don't have to provide aid here.

Is that Obama's version of reparations, since we can assume that a lot of that would be earmarked for Africa?

I think he knows it would be out of the question in this country, so what's the harm in giving to the "needy" in Africa.

Another tax we can count on.

Just watch Obama railroad through a bill requiring reparations be paid to blacks for slavery, even though 2/3 of the people in the United States today didn't even have ancestors in this country in that era. With the help of the media, he'll even "hoodwink" and "bamboozle" all the white politicians in Congress into backing it, lest they be seen as racists.

These type of programs are so stupid. Take that money and divide it up among the truly poor in the US, what would that accomplish?

In 2007, in the United States of America, the poverty threshold for a single person under 65 was US$10,787; the threshold for a family group of four, including two children, was US$21,027.

In 2007 there were 37million Americans living below this level.

In 2007 the US spent $294 billion on unemployment and welfare, and $276 billion on medicaid, for a total of $570 billion.

Evenly distribute $570 billion over the 37 million Americans living in poverty and you get $15,405 each.

There is something seriously wrong with that picture. Even if you take out medicaid it comes out to $7945.

And now we have Obama who wants MORE money to go to these programs? How about we look into actually getting more out of what we are currently spending?

One self-interest justification for such spending would be that less worldwide poverty should mean less unrest, more stability, and therefore friendlier and less radicalized foreign populations. 0.7% of GNP doesn't seem all that huge to me.

Nothing so far has proven this to be so true.

Look at the numbers I posted above...spending 1/2 a TRILLION dollars here has not done the trick. What makes us think it will work elsewhere when the money is likely even more mis-used or mis-directed.
