Hopefully half of you voting for Obama even KNOW what the FISA bill WAS about --because it has SADLY passed....

as everyone was sleeping it has now passed through the Congress & Senate....

I know everyone was sleeping because two days ago I posted about how you could help by writing to your senator...and my post was largely ignored. Why? Because there are so many more important things to discuss like "who is the worst seriel killer in history"

Well, Obama has done it. Turned once again after receiving the nomination. DO YOU TRUST THIS GUY WITH YOUR COUNTRY???

That Barack Obama jog toward the political center now that he's won the Democratic nomination appears to have turned into a full-fledged dash today. And there's a lot of folks on the left side of his party that are unhappy.

and I just love the fact that I have to read about what's happening in our own country by reading foreign newspapers:

US Senate passes surveillance bill

The US Senate has passed the revised Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act by 69 votes to 28.
The legislation expands the role of US surveillance on domestic and foreign telephone and internet traffic.

For an Easy, Unequivocal Message to Obama on FISA, Use Your Wallet
By Bob Ostertag, Huffington Post. Posted July 9, 2008.

Since I started writing about Senator Obama's reversal on the upcoming FISA vote, the number of comments to column shot up 1000%, and they are mostly supportive. It turns out that there are a lot of Obama supporters who feel as I do: we support Obama over McCain as much ever, but his about-face on FISA and the U.S. Constitution is a disaster that cannot be ignored.

Surveillance Bill Offers Protection To Telecom Firms

Deal Would Extend U.S. Wiretap Power, Shield Providers Facing Privacy Lawsuits

House and Senate leaders agreed yesterday on surveillance legislation that could shield telecommunications companies from privacy lawsuits, handing President Bush one of the last major legislative victories he is likely to achieve.

AT&T Whistleblower: Spy Bill Creates 'Infrastructure for a Police State'
Mark Klein, the retired AT&T engineer who stepped forward with the technical documents at the heart of the anti-wiretapping case against AT&T, is furious at the Senate’s vote on Wednesday night to hold a vote on a bill intended to put an end to that lawsuit and more than 30 others.

Klein saw a network monitoring room being built in AT&T’s internet switching center that only NSA-approved techs had access to. He squirreled away documents and then presented them to the press and the Electronic Frontier Foundation after news of the government’s warrantless wiretapping program broke.

gees....c'mon....he's just being "flexible"....isn't he?

the guy's true colors are beginning to show. i said it from the start: the guy is a phoney.

dumb liberals thought they had the anti-bush with obama....as it's turning out, he's no different than bush in so many ways: (now) supports the iraq war, (now) believe iran is a real threat, (now) feels bush was successful with north korea, (now) supports spying on americans...them dirty leftitz can get radical, ya know...and supports no law suits against the big phone corps. (one has to wonder how much they gave to the obama campaign)...the list is endless. in fact, it's so hard to keep up with obama's changes, even his strongest supporters don't know where he stands any more.

liberal democrats.....

McCain didn't even have the decency to vote for or against it.
