Now why would anyone in their right mind who is voting for the figurehead of our country and the supposed leader of the free world want the entire story? Political news is like watching a bad movie with a few nude scenes in it....you just fast forward to the good parts.

Learning French or German would be a good thing. Those are international socieites.
Spanish is, in fact, most certainly a world language. It is the second most-spoken language by native speakers in the world, behind Chinese. Approximately 400 million people worldwide speak spanish as their native language. English is the THIRD most-spoken language by native speakers in the world.

It is usually better to know what you're talking about when arguing for or against something. Otherwise, you just look like a fool, and you perpetuate ignorance.

But we simply dont do "serious" business with Mexico. We do 95% of all our mega business with Europe and Asia. You cant tell me that a third world country like Mexico is part of the "international business coalition" like Japan, the US, Canada, and Europe are. Its much more valuable to learn French, German, Chinese, etc. if your doing it to communicate with "international businesses."

Spanish is to communicate with the immigrants who come here. Even Portugal, the European spanish country, speaks totally different Spanish than what most Americans in high school learn.

I don't think we measure whether a language is a world language simply on the number of native speakers.

How do Germans and Finns communicate with each other, typically? Or French and Russians? Or Chinese and Germans?

English

I agree, though, that Spanish is a world language, although not to the degree that English is.

Abe Lincoln once said:

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt"

That one will stand the test of time.........

You are so out of the loop. All major corporations are moving maniufacturing to Mexico. In fact many that went to China 5 years ago are coming back and setting up shop in Mexico due to the shorter leadtime and improved consistent quality out of Mexico.

I have no idea what you are attempting to say by internatonal society, but I can tell you that Spanish is infiinitely mpore useful than either of those languages from a business perspective in most circumstances for business today.

We do enough to demand this website from the US Department of Commerce:

Home -- U.S. Commercial Service Mexico

Ever hear of NAFTA? Well there is a reason that was created.

OH...and do you mean Portuguese? Yeah...that is it's own language that was originated about 2000 years ago so I think we can say that it's not Spanish by now.
