Online polls? Really?

Check out RealClearPolitics for a pretty accurate weight of major polls like CNN, Rasmussen, Gallup, Newsweek, etc. Not a single one of them puts them with McCain on top.

Rasmussen Reportsâ„¢: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a presidential election. (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll - broken link)

John McCain each attract 43% of the vote. When "leaners" are included, Obama holds a statistically insignificant 47% to 46% advantage. Today is the first time that McCain’s support has moved above 45% since Obama clinched the nomination on June 3. It’s also the first time the candidates have been tied since Obama clinched the Democratic nomination

Wow now Obamanation people what do you have to say to that?
Tuborg, why is it a valid poll? As far as I'm concerned 50.8% of statistics are made up on the spot. But common sense has it that Obama should have a slight advantage that is without a doubt. Even so it still would come down to electoral votes, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, you're right, so why don't you check out current leads in electoral votes as well. Enjoy.

The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator (http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/election_2008_electoral_college_update - broken link) shows now Obama leading in states with 210 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 171 votes. When leaners are included, it’s Obama 293, McCain 227. Recent state polling provided good news for Obama in Wisconsin (http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/wisconsin/election_2008_wisconsin_presidential_election - broken link) and North Dakota (http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/north_dakota/election_2008_north_dakota_presidential_election - broken link) while McCain improved his position slightly in Missouri (http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/missouri/election_2008_missouri_presidential_election - broken link) and New Jersey. Whew, thank goodness you're on the case - what the heck are we paying the FBI & NSA for?

So what? AOL subscribers have a reputation for being pretty backward and inept.

The momentum in the polls is undeniable. This is no "bump". McCain is sinking into obscurity. I sort of feel bad for him.

How would you know they're all "so, so" "energized and hopeful"? Have you talked to them about it? Have you had them over to dinner and they expressed their excitement to you?

Did you watch a terrorism infomercial?

Did a terrorist send you an upbeat postcard specifying his excitement about Obama as a candidate?

To be perfectly frank, sanrene, I'm starting to worry more about your extreme amount of insider's information on terrorists than I could ever be of Obama or McCain.
