It seems to me many of the bills put thru by the democrats had to naming schools and such. Are you saying Obama had any real bills that made it to Law that were of any substance other than naming a school or creating some sort of holiday?

Can you show us - just 3 bills that Obama put through congress where he cut taxes or something of more substance than nameing a school? And how many bills were made into law?

Not to seem apologetic, (though it'll come out that way) but traditionally junior senators play apprentice to seniors and don't author too many bills that early in their careers.

So there you go.

The key word in your post is

"looks"

I don't know about you, but at my job the more you work, the better it looks for you. Surely the gov't is no different?

Hmm...substance. If you read the lists, I find it difficult to imagine how many of the bills submitted by Senator Obama could be considered "lacking substance". Take for instance these few...

The New York Times > U.S. > Image > Obama’s Record in the Illinois Senate

"People who complain that Barack Obama lacks experience must be unaware of his legislative achievements. One reason these accomplishments are unfamiliar is that the media have not devoted enough attention to Obama's bills and the effort required to pass them, ignoring impressive, hard evidence of his character and ability.

"Taken together, these accomplishments demonstrate that Obama has what [Kirk] Dillard, the Republican state senator, calls a "unique" ability "to deal with extremely complex issues, to reach across the aisle and to deal with diverse people." In other words, Obama's campaign claim that he can persuade us to rise above what divides us is not just rhetoric."

Not how you sponsor a bill, politics 101. BTW I am not talking Democrat versus Republican. I am talking politics. I am not a McCain supporter either which gives me an advantage of seeing how things really are.
