The real segment who would feel the pinch under his administration is those making over 250,000 a year. And I for one am willing to let them be taxed more for the greater good. Yes, I am very generous.
I would think those that are concerned with the weakening of the American system would be outraged at the last 8 years. You have seen the political elite use procedures to bring us to war and remove many rights which had origins in our constitution. In short the last 8 years has seen the constitution have its legs cut out from under it and through fear.... the terrorist are going to get you, you wont be safe unless we take your rights.. and so forth they have kept America pacified and complacent. You fear socialism / Marxism but continue to support the regime that has brought us closer to that ideology than any other. Perhaps a study of those ideologies may help for you to see we are already too close to it. Im curious as to when the republicans will make changes to the term length in order to move us closer to a dictactorship.
Name ONE right that you have lost...And when was the loss of that right last used against you...
Here's a guy who has achieved his position through hard work and high ability. He isn't the presumptive nominee because he was born with all the advantages of wealth and powerful political connections. He's where he is because he's done it the American way; he's worked his way up.
Here's a guy who doesn't seem to be motivated by personal gain. After graduating at the top of his class from Harvard Law School, he was offered very lucrative positions with Wall Street law firms. He instead returned to Chicago as a community organizer among the working poor.
Here's a guy who has a vision of repairing the obvious rift in America between left and right. Who does that threaten?
On this forum, the anger directed at Obama is all out of proportion. I think some of it can be attributed to ignorance (he's a muslim, he's a black panther, etc) and some can be attributed to hard-right wingnuts who see the post-Bush years on the horizon as a bleak period in the wake of his failed presidency.

I'm not conservative nor liberal. I pretty much vote issues (but I am a registered republican). Let's face it.. since voting for president isn't so much in voting who you want as in voting against who you don't want, it really does boil down to issues.
The reason I won't vote for Obama is because of his too liberal stands on too many topics. I'm already tired of my tax dollars providing for those too lazy to get jobs and stay at home as a baby-producing factory (gender neutral... could be male or female... not aiming at anything specific). Liberals have already made it too easy and comfortable to stay at home... make a law that says "An individual may receive government subsidies (medical, welfare, etc.) ONLY in the event they cannot work for medical reasons, or there are NO jobs available in the city in which they live" and I'll vote for them! As long as there's a "Help Wanted" sign.. there should be no welfare checks with the exception of medical disability.
I also won't vote for him because most of his supporters make moronic statements like the one quoted above.

Are you referring to this statement?

Hahaha..... uh.. no. Thanks for proving my point so eloquently though.
It's just that morons like me aren't able to appreciate all of lil' Bush's accomplishments, right?
Set me straight, then.
