I'm not about to read this entire long thread, but I'm right here with Pilot. Obama seemed great at first. I voted for him in the primary. And then I learned more about his policies. He's completely an idealist with maddening socialist views. Big government is and babysitter handouts are exactly what nobody wants, yet Obama is completely for it and it seems like none of his supporters even realize this.

Obama in office with a democratic house is going to cost us all major money.

ABSOLUTELY I have, how could I not? Could it be because both Baltimore City and the Washington burbs voted OUT the republican governor and put in Martin O'Mouthy the democrapic crook who immediately RAISED our state taxes?

You CAN'T be putting THAT on Bush I hope. Please tell me you're
A. not serious
B. not allowed to vote

That's a concern.

Because Bush and his Republican congress did so well at holding the line on spending. And borrowing from the Chinese communists to cover their debt.

Bush was WRONG to approve this ridicuous spending, but do we need another President who will both raise spending and taxes? At least our deficit has been going down. We don't need more taxes to kill our economy we need LESS SPENDING.

BTW, this thread is about Obama, not Bush.

I certainly won't apologize for the Bush administration. But things have only gotten worse in the two years the Dems have had the house. Not better as we all hoped. Nancy Peloski's a friggin idiot and they can't get anything done. Somebody should figure out how much money they waste every day just by not getting things done. I bet it's equal or even greater to the Bush screw-ups, heh.

Obama wants to raise the capital gains tax, and the corporate tax rate, he wants to repeal the tax cuts for people who make over $250K (which by the way, are many of the people who employ other people... ripple effect), and he wants to tax energy companies and give handouts to poor people. Course if you tax the enegry companies they are going to raise prices to compensate, and over the last year we've seen how higher energy costs have rippled down into higher everything, right to the food you buy. And that's just the start.

McCain isn't much better, but he's looking for smaller government while Obama is going for huge socialist government. Unless you're a poor bastard who'd rather stew in your own **** and rejoice over a piddly gov't handout than make something of yourself in the capitalist market, you're going to feel the pain of Barack Marx. er, Obama.

I would think that Americans would be a little smarter in realizing that having two branches of the federal government controlled by one party is a dangerous venture. It seldom spells great success and only results 4-8 years later in demise for the ruling party. Instead, for true bipartisan efforts, Americans may need to consider having a divided government.

Just food for thought.

You sound like taxpayer dollars going to coprorations is OK, but taxpayer dollars going to citizens is somehow undesirable. And taxes on wages are OK, but taxes on unearned income like capital gains is dirty. Where did you get this peculiar viewpoint?

That's been the Bush mantra: If you work for a living, you suck. If you were born retired, do I have a deal for you!

It's amazing that so many have bought into this bogusity.
