Now, you tell me, what is wrong with the word "Negro"? And, yes, I will use it, given a chance. I could use other words, but why should I? To appease you? You make me smile.
Its not the 1940s anymore, man. The word "negro" is considered an ethnic slur. Its pretty offensive.
If you want to find out, walk up to a black guy on the street and call him a negro, and see how he responds.
no injuries yet, but they landed in new orleans, not iowa city. have to wait and see how this one plays out.

Thank god no injuries--wonder if this will be his chance to break into more media attention.
can't be that offensive if CD doesn't even edit the word. the word negra and negro are spanish words for black if I am not mistaken.
Yes. In Spanish, negro or negra is not an offensive word. But America is a country that practiced slavery far after many other countries outlawed it, and it has some negative connotations.
In American English, its pretty offensive if spoken by a non-black person. Especially if that non-black person happens to be white.
not sure why that would be. the majority of white people in this country came here from europe long after the slavery days. I think it's pretty unfair to assume that my family had anything to do with slavery because of the color of my skin.
