from yahoo:

In perhaps the most curious incident, McCain said earlier this month that as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, he had tried to confuse his captors by giving the names of Pittsburgh Steelers starting players when asked to identify his squadron mates. McCain has told the story many times over the years — but always correctly referred to the names he gave as members of the Green Bay Packers.

McCain gaffes pile up; critics pile on - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080722/pl_politico/11939 - broken link)

But McCain's mistakes raise a serious, if uncomfortable question: Are the gaffes the result of his age? And what could that mean in the Oval Office?

Voters, thinking about their own relatives, can be expected to scrutinize McCain’s debate performances for signs of slippage.

He made that comment in Pittsburgh. Maybe he just forgot that news travels faster and farther these days.

McCain supporters were so ready to tear Obama up this week and dance over his gaffes and campaign mistakes and is this as good as it is going to get for them? Now the Obama people ready to be on the defensive and keeping their fingers crossed are shaking their heads wondering WTF is McCain doing?

As you point out elsewhere he's home in the Barcalounger, giggling and shaking his head at the antics on that wacky sitcom "Stop the Crazy Man." Now and then his writers give him some papers to read and his handlers dress him up and then he's on a plane, going somewhere.

McCain Explains His Repeated Czechoslovakia Gaffes (VIDEO)

McCain said "Czechoslovakia" instead of the "Czech Republic" at another town hall today. But this time, he caught himself and offered a bit of self-mocking explanation. That makes it the third time in the past three weeks.

Staying on topic, yes Obama is terrible without a prompter. Has no business being elected.

As has been pointed out there is also the breadth and depth of the answer to be evaluated.

I just was going to say, this Obamoron is going to make Bush and McCain look like a Patrick Henry, a very great orator for our nation. Wow, BHO really has a disconnect between his brain and mouth doesn't he?! Too many drugs in the past? Almost like a stutterer. Embarrassing--for him, and us.

And the crowds in Europe will be there why? Why is Chuck Hagel staking his career on Obama? Is it sympathy for the handicapped?

Didn't you know that they're all mindless robots, regardless of better education systems?
