Domergurl, I agree with just about everything in your last post. Of course if Obama wins it's not the end of life as we know it. I am, however, a bit concerned since I assume that Congress will also be heavily weighted with Democrats which means that some of what Obama wants to change, will. And I'm not real fond of his changes and I absolutely don't get "bottom up" economics.

But it's only 4 years. And I strongly doubt he'd be a 2-term President since the gloss will diminish over time.

I'm not so sure it isn't diminishing already. He just can't hold onto this momentum although I admit he has a powerful and effective machine behind him. Still, he's having trouble keeping MoveOn.org and DailyKos happy which explains his dance around so many issues.

He's an impressive figure there's no doubt. It doesn't hurt that he's so tall, but I'm not electing tall. And I'm not electing an orator. He speaks well with the written word in front of him, but he's not well spoken at all when left to his own devices. In fact, he flounders. He really does seem like a bit of a puppet to me and I worry about those operating the puppet. Who are they?

I am still at a loss to understand people who post things like "McCain is a 70+ year old idiot". That's just stupid and childish and it leaves me questioning who the real idiot is here.

I also wouldn't necessarily characterize McCain as an idiot. He's just OLD , old, old, old and even more OLD. He's a letter away from mold. He probably chases his cranberry juice with prune juice in the evening. I don't support his candidacy, but I do think he is sincere, which I don't get from Ohayzeus. I get arrogance and entitlement from him.

Again, I hate this election, but McCain isn't an idiot.
