I want to believe it, but I just don't know. While it's not a southern state I have a hard time with the polls coming out.
I have heard that since CA is safe that a lot of volunteers are driving up from the Bay Area to Reno and LA to LV to canvass the neighborhoods. Is there anyone on here who can confirm (ie; done it themselves, not heard about it from a friend of a friend) this?
Was out today doing the garage sale thing and saw a grand total of 3 Obama signs while losing count of McCain signs at 30+.
Don't know if this proves anything, but I really don't know where they are coming up with the numbers that make us a swing vote, I only mostly see McCain support (3 to 4 McCain per 1 Obama signs, bumper stickers, etc.) Heck I was watching the news a few nights ago and they were talking about how a large number (I love it when they do that, what is a large number?) of Hispanic voters that were registered as Democrats were planning on voting for McCain. (and before you folks jump on why they know who is registered Dem/Rep Nevada has a very open policy concerning information, I can find out who owns a house just by using the address, while a bit weird at first I like it when folks can't hide behind government rules).
I've heard it's red. I was talking with a woman at one of our three Obama campaign offices in Omaha, NE (you heard right, he's got THREE offices in NEBRASKA of all places!) and she said her son was living in Nevada and she and her husband were constantly calling him with information to fight for Obama from afar. She made it sound like he had an uphill battle.
I had a lady come to my door today canvassing for Obama (first one I ever had), and she said that there are more people registering to vote here than ever before and that most of them are Democrats. Now whether or not they all actually vote or not is another story, but I do see MANY Obama stickers here now. Most of the McCain signs I see are in undeveloped empty lots, only a few in front yards. Hopefully we'll be a factor in Obama winning the White House.

I've noticed that here in Omaha. I've seen ridiculous numbers of Obama stickers and signs all over town, but almost NO McCain signs. The few I see are in big numbers on individual lawns, like they're trying to compensate or something
With regard to yard signs and such- I think republicans tend to have a different kind of support base. Overall they attend meetings and tend to throw larger sums of money into campaigns individually.
As opposed to Democrats who overall are less active and engaged in the political aspects.
Here in Florida, which is also a tight battleground state, I notice that the larger homes and ranches have McCain signs. The cars that have McCain stickers are land rovers, bmws, cadillacs and lincolns. The homes with Obama signs tend to be more middle class and the cars with Obama stickers seem to be hondas, fords and toyotas.
Having lived in Reno/sparks AND Fernley till recently you all forget who came in 2nd in that state
RON PAUL... If they did legit polls and didn't skew numbers to keep sheeple in line w/who they want them to vote for Nevadans would probably roll towards Baldwin, Paul or Nader

Looking at the graph not shown here but in the link that conversation she had must have been awhile ago.
