Will this key voting bloc of McCain's still be with him come election day?

I present the link and selected segments without comment. Read the whole article for your self and post your highlights.
McCain rejects 'audacity of hopelessness' for Iraq - Yahoo! News (broken link)

Everywhere he went in recent days — in New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Ohio and here in Colorado — the Arizona senator drew warm and appreciative crowds. No matter that many, if not most, of those in the audiences were senior citizens. Seniors vote in big numbers

Obama before a sweeping Mideast landscape, McCain holding a news conference in a supermarket in Bethlehem — Pennsylvania, that is — and narrowly escaping an attack from a tumbling stack of apple sauce jars.

Unless they have the voting machines in a Bingo hall, Denny's during the 3:30pm "early bird special" rush or mail it to them in an AARP magazine I don't see them showing up.

CBS actually edited the video to make it look like he was buying applesauce and not Poli-grip and Depends.

A few more months of people hearing what Nobama has to say, and McCain will win in a landslide. Anyone who is actually listening, can't possibly want, or expect him to lead....
Just another empty suit........

They're not there now! I believe many in the GOP are wondering if they want to support what looks like a losing investment. The GOP will, more likely try to help congressional\ senate candidates who are struggling against much anti-Republicanism.

I think the larger question should be "Does McCain actually HAVE any supporters?" I don't know any Republicans who are excited about the presumptive nominee...Who voted for this loser in the primaries? I think that McCain will get votes in November from Republicans who are "party first, right or wrong" sorts of people, and anyone who is against socialism (Obama) and too spineless to vote with their conscience.

McCain was wise to take public financing he doesn't have to worry after the nominationg and the RNC will have a big war chest to compensate. I supported him before but this is a different McCain and as one who has followed him a deteriorating McCain. I took heat being a Black Republican (former) and now realize much of it was justified.

Default Scared yet?

"McCain laid out a near-apocalyptic chain of events he said could have resulted had Obama managed to stop the troop buildup ordered by President Bush: U.S. forces retreating under fire, the Iraqi army collapsing, civilian casualties increasing dramatically, al-Qaida killing cooperative Sunni sheiks and finding safe havens to train fighters and launch attacks on Americans, and civil war, genocide and a wider conflict.
"Above all, America would have been humiliated and weakened," he said. "Terrorists would have seen our defeat as evidence America lacked the resolve to defeat them. As Iraq descended into chaos, other countries in the Middle East would have come to the aid of their favored factions, and the entire region might have erupted in war."

Lucky for us we paid those guys to stop fighting! Whew.

Senator McCain can sure tell scary stories.
