Yes Mccain was born in Fort Sherman Panama which was part of United States till 1999 .

It was a military base with a small hospital/clinic for USA soldiers by the canal .

OP: Good God, man, use some common sense! Children born to American military personnel while they are serving on American bases in other countries aren't American citizens? Does that make the least amount of sense?

So if an American serrviceman's Iraqi girlfriend, gives birth to a baby on an American base in Iraq. That child is automatically an American citizen and can run for President, even if it spends most of his or her life in Iraq?

McCain has already showed us his real birth certificate, Nobama has NOT !

Don't forget it is the looney liberals who want to give American citizen rights to babies born to illegal criminals and give our rights to enemies who have killed our soldiers.

President McCain hopefully will end the bad dream and send Nobama back to Kenya where he was born.

I don't think Obama was born in Kenya.

But I agree that we don't need to be giving automatic citizenship to the kids of illegal aliens. It's flat-out ridiculous.

Yes.

In the situation you described, if a child is not born on an American base in Iraq, the answer is still "yes."

If neither parent is a service member, the child is still a natural born American, and never has to live in the US under a number of circumstances.

There are circumstances where children born abroad when one or both parents is an American citizen that they must live in the US for small period of time.

Both McCain and Obama are natural born American citizens.

What about those born in Puerto Rico but migrate to the states.. they can now vote for president and couldn't vote if they stay in P.R..... can they run for the office as well if living in one of the 50 states? This can be tricky if it were to ever happen.
