It's a pretty simple question.

Who is spending more time tearing down the other guy than telling us what he wants for the future? Who is doing more "slamming," "chiding" and "berating" in public against the other guy?

Simple, McCain even though he promised a clean campaign. What a joke and a liar.

since barack obama's campaign is being run by his master, moveon.org, they are running equally negative campaigns.

NOT relevant, since GOP dirty dogs are either now or will be doing the same as moveon, only worse, of course.

Obama is running the far better, cleaner campaign.

Landslide Obama.

Obviously McCain. He's a Republican, he has to go negative. They can't win on the issues all the GOP can do is hope to implant enough fear into the ignorant.

As they've been doing for many years, successfully.

moveon is such a positive addition to the democrat party isn't it. they are by far the most negative political machine that this country has ever seen, and they own barack obama.

Both parties are pulling the strings on their candidates. What started out fresh and new, the desire to change the direction of our government, has become the same old mud slinging campaign style. Also, I detect a little back-sliding, back-peddling on the part of both candidates. "What is old is new again!"

If a candidate cannot stand one their own good merit, without tearing down the opposition, then what is the point in their running?

Questions for the political parties:

Do you really think that we the people cannot see the irresponsible actions of both our candidates? Is that why you must degrade and point out all that the "other candidate" does in a negative manner?

Do you really think that we the people cannot judge for ourselves the positive aspects of the candidates?

What to do? I think the candidates need to "wash themselves" of the "mud-slinging" and focus on the true issues of the campaign, the desire of the people for change, in a positive and constructive manner.

won't happen. mccain has to appease the religious nuts that infest the republican party, and barack must appease his master, moveon.org.

OMG! We actually agree on something! (esp that first half, about the fundie nut jobs).

In the interest of sharing info, former Senator Bill Bradley in his book The New American Way, discusses no less that 12 definable factions in the GOP, with the evangelicals being but one of them. I'm sure the DEMs have their factions too, many being the opposites of the GOP factions. This year, the evangelical faction is a shadow of its former self relative to its sway, or that seems to be the consensus of most sources I've read or seen. Many people of faith are flat out embarrassed by the likes of Dobson, Falwell(d), Robertson, Rev Ted, et al.
