Political pundits from both parties commented on how unusual it was for a presidential candidate to begin using extreme statements this early in the campaign. Some are suggesting that McCain is feeling desperate & is bummed out over how successful Obama's trip to the Middle East went.

Dropping to the level of McCain current frustration doesn't bode well for him or the GOP. Republicans voting for Obama will also vote for whoever else the Democrats are running for different offices.

McCain may want to consider being more like Obama in order to exhibit maturity & self-control.

Its pretty much universal opinion that the war was based on a faulty premise and we are now only cleaning up the mess that we started. Even Republicans will admit that one.

Doug Bereuter, Republican Congressman of Nebraska who voted to approve the war on Iraq, now says in a letter to his constituents the U.S. military action in Iraq was a mistake.

The smart GOP guys have all retired in the past couple of years, or have announced their retirement when their terms end with the upcoming election. They've been fleeing Congress in droves because they KNOW what coming: Landside Obama / DEMS

ALL I've heard so far is McCain attacking Obama and he in turn responding to his attacks. McCain has flip flopped on almost every issue including the Bush tax cuts, offshore drilling, etc. The maverick of 2000 was buried in order to pacify rightwing conservatives including the likes of the evangelical / Falwell / Pat Robertson crowd he once called the agents of intolerance. Really how civil can he be after he called his wife the "C" word, called his Vietnamese captors "Gooks" which is slang to most Asians, the "bomb bomb bomb Iran" chant and his inability to control his temper?
