let me lead you back to the subject of this thread:

Obama refused to visit our American wounded soldiers. Many of them disfigured and missing limbs because of the hostility in Iraq. They are truely American heros and deserve better treatment than Obama gave them!

Obama did not meet with them--which he could have easily done quietly, privately and intimately without the media. Instead he wanted the press there to write about it and photograph it. When he found out that a long standing policy of the Department of Defense did not allow political groups or the media Obama cancelled!

That's just shameful behavior and wrong!

Obama had no earthly reason to cause a big stink - and for all his campaign people to go along with such a decision - when the eyes of the world are upon them all, for the sake of being 20 minutes off camera.

In other words, common sense.

Someone who was there will eventually tell what really happened with the Pentagon wanting to pay old tired McCain-style bullying-games, and you all wont like it. The Obama camp was having none of it, that's all.

Just checking - you do acknowledge the fact that Obama has visited troops overseas and at Walter Reed without press, dont you?

Yes that is true and it wasn't made into a big media circus like his campaign staff wanted to do at the hospital in Germany. Kudos to Obama for being smarter than the idiots on his staff!

What is relevant is that the Obama campaign (the idiots mentioned above) realizing they weren't going to get a photo-op at the hospital opted to put on a STAGED EVENT, a dog and pony show for the media.

Starring Barack Obama

But first, in order to draw a crowd they advertised a free rock and roll concert!

It was a sham.

The band only played about 20 minutes.

Then Obama came out and gave a "speech" to the Germans who spoke little or no English and didn't understand why Obama was speaking. "Bring back the band" they screamed.

It was all a dog and pony show for the media

1st para: didnt you bother to read my post? If you want to blog and just talk to yourself you can do that, you know.

paras 2-9: I had to read your post several times to be sure I had it right.
You're actually saying that the Obama crew:

1. were mad because they didnt get a photo op in the hospital.
2. So they ran around and advertised a concert, not warning people what would happen if they didnt leave the park quickly enogh.
3. Paras 7, 8 and 9... Im speechless.

You know what? Whatever the state of your mental health, Im putting you on my ever-growing Ignore list. It's been real.

Thanks for your service. I'm a vet. I was in the Navy during Vietnam. I was on supply ship. We stood off in the Gulf of Tonkin and watched the destroyers lob shells at VC positions.

Hospital visits are important to those brave American heros who are wounded. it is a shame that Obama could not make time for even a short visit to cheer up and encourage those brave soldiers.

Obama has always held the military in contempt. He doesn't understand!
