What the McCain campaign doesn't want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was...wait for it...using wounded troops as campaign props. So, no matter which way Obama turned, McCain had an Obama bashing ad ready to launch
McCain Planned To Attack Obama If He Visited Troops Abroad

That's McNasty for you!

You are using something from the Huffington Post as a reliable resource?

You must be joking.

I see they even went with the all knowing, indisputable, "anonymous source" as well.

Give me a break.

GREG CRAIG (Obama senior foreign policy adviser): [O]bviously, Senator McCain had two press releases prepared, one -- if we had gone and seen the troops, he would've criticized us for politicizing and exploiting the troops in a political advantage. But we decided that that was something that we did not want to be criticized for, and so we didn't go, and now he's criticizing us for not going.

So they had a plan if he showed up to see the troops as a photo opportunity and they had a plan for if he neglected to see the troops.

Perhaps he should have gone by himself to see the troops, without any campaign people or any cameras, and there would have been nothing for the McCain camp to hit him on.

No, the alternative script would have hit him for shamelessly campaigning to helpless bedridden troops.

You're right, though, it is just the way the game is played. By some.

This is just the left trying to rehabilitate their damaged candidate as they watch him tank in the polls.

Please, HuffPo and media Matters are left-wing arms of the democrat party.
