I'm looking at the Gallup poll data and it just (DUH!) dawned on me that the poll numbers for McCain/Obama add up to 89 percent and that Neither, Other, No Opinion comprise the rest of REGISTERED voters.

Gallup Daily: Obama 45%, McCain 44%

Who are these people (one of them represents me but I don't know what group I'm part of)? For such a close race, there ought to be someone out there wooing us. Isn't 10 - 11 percent an unlikely amount to go to third party candidates or is this typical at this time in an election year?

I think its still early, many 10%-11% people will wait until after the convention.

Why are you one of them?

I'm pulling this number out of the air but I think the average for all 3rd party candidates together is like 1/15 voters.

McCain will sell us out. I don't trust him on any issue. Obama is a Socialist and I don't want the government with its nose up my butt and taxing the pants off of me. Both of them are bought and paid for by big business...in my opinion. Both of them are do-nothing Senators who don't deserve a promotion.

They both have in the pockets of big business. That being said, I fall in the category of neither. Both of them are OBL's working on behalf of the corporate masters and supporters of amnesty aka "a path to citizenship".

That's hilarious.

So the people who haven't already committed themselves with a 1-point margin are the ones who'll affect the outcome?!?

It will be determined by the undecideds. Most of those undecided are not liking what they are seeing with Obama (ie: the Ludacris thing). I am quite sure these racist/hateful people like Ludacris that keep popping up in Obama's life will have a major impact on the undecided.....driving them away from Obama.

Pretty much. I think they have the election confused with that movie "Swing Vote" Either that or they really believe all those people who are saying they're undecided in public because they don't want to have to deal with crap from other people. My boyfriend has been telling people he's undecided for months because he says voting is a pirvate matter and he doesn't feel the need to explain why he chose to vote for that person.

Anyone who uses that Ludacris thing - btw there is a thread about that song - as a reason NOT to vote for Obama didn't want to vote for him in the first place.

Do you remember the part where Obama said he didn't approve of Luda's song? How about let's talk about the candidates instead of their wacky supporters.
