Default Obama; Backflips on Offshore Drilling

Obama shifts, says he may back offshore drilling - Yahoo! News (broken link)

Quote:
"My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post.

"If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage — I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done."
Smart boy, Obama. You knew you were on the wrong side of this issue. Fortunately, we have all your previous positions on the issue.

sanrene, by tomorrow you would find all Obama followers supporting offshore drilling, and they would swear that they had always supported offshore drilling.

Obama is nothing but a dishonest flip-flopper.

You're right. Somehow they'll figure out a way to say he was for it before he was against it.

Personally, I prefer that leaders be flexible and be willing to adjust their positions to reflect the will of the people. I think a candidate who is willing to CHANGE their position as merited is exhibiting their SUPERIOR leadership skills. And BTW, I DON'T support offshore drilling. Have a nice day.

McCain changed his position based on the price of gas at the pump and he said just that. He would still be against drilling if gas was $1.50/gallon.

Obama changed his position for political expediency. He claimed that drilling was a gimmick, wouldn't work, was just a ploy to line the pockets of oil companies. Just today he said we should tax the oil companies to give everyone a $1000 check. How UN-American is that? So now the democrats have AGAIN painted themselves into a corner by being on the wrong side of the issue for so long (IE Surge??? anybody). They have stepped in it - AGAIN. Obama didn't necessarily mind the price of gas, he just thought the price rose to quickly.

There is a difference.

McCain WILL hit him hard on this.

McCain changed his position because he is running for president. He didn't care when gas was $3.75 or $3.95 a gallon. He is doing this to do nothing more than get votes and get more money for the oil companies who have recently donated to his fund.
