and....your ""America is now and will forever be the superpower of the free world"...forever???? Think again...repeating it won't make it true...you sure haven't been paying attention!!!!
You’re calling me stupid. How prejudice of you as you don't know me. I believe in the Bill of Rights, where do you get the impression that I don't? You can say what you want about America, but most of those people are ignorant socialists. I don't agree with all our policies and I am outraged with our Supreme Court, but how does that take away from all that the American people have accomplished over the last couple of centuries. America is not perfect, but she has achieved far more than any other country in her short existence. We have saved more countries and spent more money on world charity than any other country on this planet. Many of these countries date back to B.C. times and we are a mere 232 years old. Why does the world look to America to save them? We are the superpower due to our drive and Capitalism. Do the French have the ability to save Africa from AIDS, or the Germans, or the English, or the Canadians? No that task would be left to America yet again. We are the youngest of the free nations and yet we have been the reigning superpower. History does not lie and just who do you think will take it away? China has come a long way, but they still send their students to American universities to become educated so who is the superpower? I believe the country with the ability to do the teaching remains on top. Should you like to call someone stupid or a dope may I suggest you go talk to the mirror.

Only if you allow it to happen. We have vast resources in our own country and do not need others to survive as they need us. The only way we will be brought to our knees is by our own socialist elected officials. They will be voted out of office soon enough. WWI and WWII were not our wars but we helped to save the Europeans. Natural disasters that hit other countries don't impact us other than the media coverage, but the Red Cross is always the first to mobilize and land. We annoyed Japan with our belief in isolationism and Pearl Harbor happened. Devastating as it was we were able to win that battle. Have we been hurt by other countries, yes but never brought to our knees much to Pelosi's chagrin. The sad truth is Americans are a generous group and we want to help in disasters and have the ability to. This scares the cr*p out of dictators and they hate our free society as we have taken down Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito, Soviet USSR, East Germany fascist regimes fear us and that will never change. We were hated long before the 19th century and we will be hated long after. Let us not forget the fascist regimes that were able to take us down...wait many have tried none have succeeded. They will continue to try and we must continue to be vigilant.

Think about what China alone could do if they decided to undercut your exports.
Think about the economy crash in the 1920s.

You're all acting like he said it's tough to be proud of his country. Now imagine how much McCain would have beat Obama down about that, had he been the one to say it.

China won't undercut exports as it would have a faster greater impact on them.
The economy crash was in the thirties and it was due to a raise in taxes. The 1920's were the roaring 20's of great wealth. In the 1920's Americans had amassed 6 million in debt. That started the ball rolling. Don't exceed your limits is a very true statement indeed. The stock market crash of 1929 had started to recover and then the elected officials raised taxes and that was the issue that nailed the coffin for the Great Depression. The Democratic Government of 1933 sounds a lot like Obama's plans for 2009.

I think what is being missed it that he was answering a basic question from a 7 year old. 7 year olds see the world in black and white. They don't understand the nuances of love for country and questioning authority. Why couldn't he give a basic answer that she would understand and then move on to the next question? Why did he have to use a 7 year old's question to try to cover one of his talking points? Why is it impossible for this man to give an answer like, "I wanted to serve my country," or "I wanted to lead my country," or even "I wanted to make this country even better than it already is"

That WAS sincere. He was speaking the truth. America isn't what it once was, or what it could be. Have you looked at the state of the country lately? Have you looked at what we've done to other countries and people around the world? Even within THIS country? Get a clue, people. Whatever we once were, the United States is NOT the good guy anymore. BUT that can change, which is what Obama is talking about.

As to the rest of your post ...I have never seen so much naivete, misinformation and blind ignorance of what is going on in the world in one spot in my life unless it was your next post....
