The risk of drilling is minimal now. That is such a tired argument. In the end, it comes down to this. Which would you rather do ... take a little risk and drill for our own oil so that at least to some degree we can fuel ourselves?

Or just take our hard earned $$$$ and send it over to the Middle East? I think sending it to Iran is a great idea so they can use it to get nuclear power in order to make a nuclear weapon. Yes, let's fund that!

We cannot continue to be so elitist as to say we want the life we have, we want our cars and our cooled and warmed homes, we want it all, but oh no!!!!! Don't put an oil rig in my backyard. We have got to get over this and start to do our share. No matter how many alternative fuels we come up with, we are going to continue to need oil for many years to come.

Seriously ... your choice. For me it's simple. Get Congress back from vacation and take the darned vote.

Oh, but they do spread it out ALL year.

There's about a week off for President's Day, a week for Memorial Day, a week for July 4 and two more weeks in April, the entire month of August and the week around Labor Day.
Let's not forget their time off for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day and Veterans Day.
Let's add congressional vacations around Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas on our list of good things to remember.

We also should not forget to count our blessings that when our hardworking ``public servants'' are actually in Washington, they work only three days a week ...

And for all this hard work they get paid over $160K a year AND have a multitude of benefits.

This congress, under the democratic leadership of Pelosi and Reid has been an utter failure. Americans appear sharp enough to correctly give them some of the lowest approval numbers in history; hopefully smart enough to put some of them on permanent vacation in Nov.

Yes going on vacation and driving free by getting a car and a driver on the tax payers expense, I guess. Meanwhile promoting her book and making more money and than blaming Bush and McCain for the oil crisis.....
Pelosi is an embarrasing for women who want a career. How she handled it by shutting off the mic and the lights....OMG....I hope she will think back after November how she and Reid and Obama made the Dem. party look like fools.
