The same reason Oregon Republican senator Gordon Smith is running from Bush and McCain. Or Washington Republican gubernatorial challenger Dino Rossi is running from his entire party.....they want to win their respective elections. It's called politics, don't try to make something of it that's not there.

She apparently sees Obama as a "for now" hindrance and obstacle to her political pursuits. So, she's not going to use him or really associate w/ him much.

I say "for now" b/c if Obama really takes off in the polls and/or gets elected, then they'll be best buddies.
