Would Senator McCain support the Diplomacy underway in Georgia or Would his Temper have us Embroiled in a WAR?
"McCain believes that supporting opposition elements, financially or logistically, implies an obligation to come in and bail them out with direct military intervention if they get into trouble."

Shaky Caucasus ceasefire holds amid claims of tanks in Gori
From Times Online
August 13, 2008
"The ceasefire in the Caucasus conflict appeared to be holding today as Russia reported the pullback of Georgian troops from South Ossetia and denied Georgian claims that it was deploying more troops on Georgian territory outside the disputed province"
"Under the pact, fighting was stopped while forces are to return to their positions before Georgia attacked last Thursday."

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia will spend at least $400 million in 2008 on restoring South Ossetia's battered capital Tskhinvali, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said on Wednesday.
"I speak for every American when I said to him [Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili ], `today we're all Georgians,'' McCain said."

Looks like you hit the wrong person with the appeaser label. You may wish to go back to the drawing board....

One of those charming glances from Putin and McCain's Depends would need changing which in turn would mean he would strike out with military force just to "show" Putin......he's an ignorant hot-headed, addled old man who WILL start serious and unnecessary war with whoever.....
We HAD "chest-pounding"....let's try THINKING.......

That "Today we're all Georgians" line is so smarmy and hypocritical. We saw the ramp-up to this developing for months - we knew the endgame for years. McCain knows Bush wouldnt have gone in. He's posturing, playing armchair general. Armchair president. But it's a great opportunity to set himself out as the great warrior leader and he's exploiting it, and I dont blame him. Im irked that there's only silence from Obama. He'll have some 'splainin to do when he gets back.

Yes, it's strange indeed to have McCain making Bush look good.

I don't blame him, either. And if that's what people want--a great warrior leader--they now know that's what they'll get. In other words, yet another cowboy. Frankly, I've had enough of cowboy presidents--but maybe that's what America wants.
Meanwhile, Obama issued a statement urging Russia to "immediately" sign and honor a cease-fire. He also called for international monitors to make sure such steps are being taken. Those seem like appropriate measures for a candidate, to me. As much as I may not like Bush, he is our Commander in Chief--BO/JM are not.
