Be fair....the left is far more hateful and anti christian.

What sort of career does reflective lead to.....Mostly book writing....making tough decisions leaves those personalities in analysis paralysis.

He is being painted as "elitist" the same way Max Cleland was painted as "unpatriotic" (and by the same reliable folks). He has some money now, but he hasn't had money nearly as long as McCain has.

Harvard Law...Leader of the debate teams...ect...The elitist title should be easy to see as I can't even imagine .01% of America get's there. Even by his own words he does claim affirmative action helped him get to where he is today.

His double talk, rambling and half answers to the questions really annoyed me. Quoting the verse from Matthew made my stomach turn. He represents a party and voters who are all about taking every bit of religion out of government, and then he quotes the Bible to push his ideas of socialism. He sure didn't bring up the Bible when asked about abortion or when a baby has rights, he declined (again) to give a straight answer. I don't know if he doesn't have any views of his own, or if they are just too radical to share openly when the world is watching. If he would be willing to use the Bible to justify all of his positions that would be one thing, but he obviously just had a staffer find this one due to the venue last night.
I was nervous for McCain, I wanted to see him do well, but with all of the hype about Obama and his power of pursuasion I didn't know what to expect. I thought McCain was fantastic. I believed his stories and they were actually relevant to the questions being asked, I felt that Obama rambled so much that after a minute or 2 nobody could even remember what the question was. (That was probably his strategy) McCain came across to me as being much more genuine and sincere, stronger, more decisive and more capable as a leader. I supported him going in anyway, but I have a much greater admiration for him now.
I think McCain was more comfortable in the setting because he is a true Christian, not a Christian out of convenience. Obama seemed to need to lay it on a little thick, like he was really trying to convince people of something that just wasn't true. I'm sure if the pastor was screaming hatred to the USA, Obama would have felt more at home and probably would have been more convincing.
Last night wasn't for any of us, we are all decided. I would be curious how/if it had an impact on any undecideds. (Don't anyone on here reply and say you were undecided)

Notice both men played on the "it's not about you" from warrens book.....only Obama tried to do it secretly while McCain came right out and said...hey this is from your book..

Did Thomas fail to mention the useless white trash in America in error or was it intentional?

I think poor Obamba was in a dense fog last night, didn't make alot of sense at all, just did what comes naturally to him: glib pandering. He just gave a foolish grin after the statement, as he did the whole night long. Really embarrassing performance.

Does the person you responded to read anything of substance. Obama has gone on record many a time telling Black folks that same point. That was why Jessie Jackson attacked him. I didn't want to respond directly to their post because it would be hard to do so without appearing mean.

McCain more than likely won. Barack Obama made a mistake going to such a forum crawling with so many white evangelical Christians. Obama tried to treat them as intelligent adults; aware that the world is full of complexity and nuance. But the people at that forum prefer backwardness, crudeness and unenlightened opinion. Obama never really had a chance.
