Why the Rick Warren Interviews Were Stupid
What is happening in our nation that our presidential candidates have to appear before an evangelical pastor & his parishioners to be grilled on their spiritual\moral beliefs?
The Church needs to butte out of politics since they have done so much damage to our nation under the foolish leadership of President Bush. As a Catholic I would be highly offended if Cardinal Mahony invited Obama & McCain inside the cathedral in order to question them about their faith. McCain is embarrassed [as he should be] whenever asked about his Christianity. Obama seems to be more comfortable talking Jesus but why does he even have to express his faith?
It would have been much better had the two candidates stood before the Supreme Court answering questions by the 9 justices [I would have watched that].
Anyone else feel that the Church has no place in politics?

The format wasn't religious, the preacher was fair, something that couldn't happen in the media so relax.

Oh boy here it comes.
Excuse time.
Your boy wonder agreed to it, don't you trust his decisions???????
Come on, Obama has been afraid of a one on one with McCain and this was the safest test for him and he failed miserably.
The majority of the country felt it was the perfect thing for the first McCain v Obama type of questioning.
I liked it, like it very well. Both were given questions and both had to answer them. You boy had a hard time with them and our guy didn't.
So now Obama lost his butt because of the sitting.
Next excuse please.
Scoreboard:
McCain 1
Obama 0

I was not sure about this at first, but Rick Warren was more fair than any of the media debate moderators will ever be. It worked out better for both candidates than I imagined, but I still can't believe they agreed to do it.

Obama won't do a one on one with McCain because he is not a socialist. McCain wants a hand out and is looking to ride on the coattails of Obama. McCain is looking for the redistribution of Obama's supporters because only Obama can fill a stadium. McCain just wants to leech off of Obama because McCain will never get an audience like Obama. So tell McCain to go work for himself and get his own supporters because he is acting like a communist with his hand out. Haha

Someone missed it all.
I agree, it was not religous at all, the pastor travels the world helping people and is known to be bright, fair and honest and these people are now saying this.
What more do you guys want? My goodness, you have had the luxury of the boy wonder being so protected this one is annoying you.
Did you really think the real Barry Soebama could hide forever?
The real Barry Soebama showed up. Now we all know how lame he is and why he wouldnt tackle McCain one on one before.

When one has no core beliefs or is told what he must say by special interests (NARAL), and goes pandering for votes by trying to convince a segment of the electorate he is something he is not - he will run into trouble - as obama demonstrated.

Yes, I see your point. But I am offended that Obama would even accept such a format [also McCain but understand he is trying to kiss butte with the religious Right].
My point is: Where's the separation of church & state? What if it had been a mosque or temple? The Christian Right would be up in arms condemning Obama [and maybe even McCain] for talking to the "heathen." Both need to stay out of the Church & the Church most definitely needs to stay out of the government
