I have an interesting theory. Why might Obama- a young brilliant President choose a VP like Joe Biden- an old gray headed guy that talks alot?? Why would he not go with another young guy like Bayh or Keane??
Could it be that he made a deal with the Clintons? A deal that says "I will not pick anybody that is an hier apparent to the Presidency unless it is Hillary? Choosing Biden- whom I think is 66- would pretty much assure that he will not be a candidate when 2016 rolls around. But Hillary, being a woman (they live about 10 years longer) will be fairly young even then. Just wondering?

I suppose anything is possible, this entire election has gotten weird and frustrating beyond belief. Hillary will need a few years to recover, so will I.. Good night John Boy...

I hope he picks Hillary only because if he does end up being elected I think she's the best person to be the Democratic Vice-President, although I personally feel she should be the Democratic nominee for President but that's for a different thread.

Ultimately though I won't vote for Obama no matter who he picks. Best of luck to both candidates though with their selections for VP.

Who said that he wouldn't go with Biden, Bayh or Keane?

Some theory you've got.

I think he will pick Hillary. That is the ONLY shot he has of winning.

I don't see Hillary on that ticket. She eliminated herself during the primaries with her over-the-top negativity and Barack is merely trying to pacify her crybaby supporters. Many of her supporters are people who voted for her because she wasn't black. These people have more in common with Republicans than the very progressive, educated, and enlightened segment of this country that Barack represents. It would be a mistake to think that these type of people would vote for the black man just because Hillary is on the ticket. Also supporting Hillary are seemingly a bunch of bitter woman suffering from a serious case of the sour grapes. I swear, many of these emotional wrecks look like like Don Imus in a dress. The ability to reason is all but gone. These people will vote for McCain if Hillary isn't on the ticket. I say to hell with them. Hillary and Bill should be shown the door as well. They are passe.

Barack said that he will pick someone who has the ability to manage and this obviously isn't Hillary. Biden is not it either because he has some issues in his past which would hurt the ticket (this is the one of the reasons his campaigns never took off).

Barack also said that he wouldn't pick someone just to grab a particular demographic. For instance, Kerry made the mistake of thinking that he could capture some portion of the South by picking Edwards. Big, big mistake. We can always count on the south to vote for the Republican because after all, their decisions are race-based, and in this election, they certainly aren't voting for a black man.

It will be an interesting choice, and a very good one too. Looking forward to it!

That's a good thing, right?

Wouldn't it be fascinating if Hilary has been playing a role in order to attract more attention to Obama? In other words, she & President Clinton have been part of a script with Obama to make it seem like are at odds with each other & then come together as a show of unity. That questionable theory aside, I don't think the combination of Barack & Hilary would be a bad partnership. Forgiven & forgotten, the primaries are over & the bad blood is gone. Hilary Clinton as vice president would make it even a larger defeat of McCain. Rub the Republican nose in the dirt of defeat sounds kinda nice

Because of his foreign policy experience and 66 is not that old.

I have been wondering if Hillary will be the VP also. She actually seems like the logical choice and McCain has a 0% chance of winning if she is on the ticket.

The Democrats will turn out in such force, McCain may actually have to campaign hard to win even southern states.

If Georgia and Texas went Democrat, you can seriously kiss the Republican party goodbye permanently.
