We pay the 7th highest property taxes in the US, after new jersey, new hampshire (a traditionally red state), Connecticut, new york, and Massachusetts.
So yes, IL is in the top ten, but there are quite a few states before US in property tax rates.
He has not destroyed Illinois, what the hell is wrong with you people? Are you all intentionally being obtuse, or are you really that blinded by partisan hate and cluelessness?
Oh, wait, your the same poster who believes that liberals want to bomb government buildings. I think you've wrapped that tinfoil hate a bit too tightly around your head.
If Obama is capable of destroying Illinois, he's capable of destroying America.
You mean.... like Godzilla?
Sorry. I bowed out of this thread. After this, I'm gone again.
It is totally silly that:
A) people thing Obama 'destroyed' IL. Not only has it not been destroyed, Obama's really not to blame for the problems it is having, which are mostly the fault of really crappy STATE leadership.
----AND-----
B) That people are SO afraid of Obama. The only play against him is fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of government programs. Scare. scare. scare.
It's corny, and I sincerely hope it's proven totally ineffectual.

There was a need for a political corruption handout...
He played right along with all the other corrupt people.....but I'm sure he was clean and clear.

Actually to say that Obama destroyed Illinois is a stretch, and I admit it. I also think that Illinois is vibrant and a very important piece in our puzzle.
What Obama proposes is based on the an economic plan put forth by his advisors. It is risky to say the least. They promise that it will benefit all of us. Take a responsible look at it. In my opinion it will be to the detriment of America.

Ok. Really gone now.
Very dangerous to say you're leaving a thread because you'll always get dragged back.
But don't be a 'last word Charlie'. There's absolutely nothing wrong with defending your position.
However I disagree. While I have no idea what effect Obama had on Illinois because I don't live there, I do know for sure there is very much to be fearful of with Obama and it's not fear of the unknown, or even fear of "change" (though I could argue that one, too).
It definitely IS a fear of too much goverment, fear of burdensome taxes on the middle class who can ill afford it, fear of his lack of foreign policy experience and his accompanying idealized view of the world, fear of a man with very poor judgment about people and who they really are, fear of a man who consistently denies he said what he said, who when called on it explains with "that's not what I meant, what I meant was ....".
Lots to be fearful about this man who cannot, and hopefully will not, be our President.
If Obama is capable of destroying Illinois, he's capable of destroying America.
You get a "A".
He cannot fix problems in his own state, how the hell can he fix the problems in 57 states? ( He still thinks there at 57 states )
