Rules are rules and one shouldn't be wishy washy about them. Have some gumption and stick to the rules.

Agreed. But you remember how bad of a backlash the DNC was getting from not entertaining to fix that mess. If they had the foresight to know that amending the rules wouldn't have resolved these convention issues then they would have probably done nothing.

They were dealing with the Clintons. How could they not even imagine that Hillary and her supporters would just fall in line? Good golly, it's the Clintons!
