Question the Foreign Policy experts

"MCCAIN: I'd institute a policy that I call "rogue state rollback." I would arm, train, equip, both from without and from within, forces that would eventually overthrow the governments and install free and democratically elected governments."
Source Source Source Source

The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop.
- George Washington

I consider the people who constitute a society or nation as the source of all authority in that nation, as free to transact their common concerns by any agents they think proper, to change these agents individually, or the organisation of them in form or function whenever they please; that all the acts done by those agents under the authority of the nation, are the acts of the nation, are obligatory on them, & enure to their use, & can in no wise be annulled or affected by any change in the form of the government, or of the persons administering it.
- Thomas Jefferson

Which is the better plan to deal with the rogue states: Iraq, Libya, North Korea? Georgia, Russia? Syria?

We have never before had a Democracy under assault like it is by the radical right in America today. While Democracy at home is constantly being curtailed, its even worse abroad, as torture and murder are the end result of U.S. foreign policy, a tradition that John McInsane will surely, without doubt, continue into his Presidency.

Like Bush he is exceedingly stupid, only he can act without the expressed instruction of a coterie of handlers like Dubya. He suffers from PTSD and has infamously said "I know how to win wars", as well as repeatedly telling crowds
"There will be more wars"

He is a sick man, in need of psychological counseling.

Crazy World isn't it? We can't say we weren't warned, only that we're uninformed.

President Washington warned us.

He continues...
Our detached and distant situation invites and enables us to pursue a different course.

If we remain one people under an efficient government. the period is not far off when we may defy material injury from external annoyance;
when we may take such an attitude as will cause the neutrality we may at any time resolve upon to be scrupulously respected;
when belligerent nations, under the impossibility of making acquisitions upon us, will not lightly hazard the giving us provocation;
when we may choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.

Why forego the advantages of so peculiar a situation? Why quit our own to stand upon foreign ground?

This is truly scary. Things may get even worse if he wins.

Washington DC is the reason we're losing our rights. It's not just the Bush administration. How many of you realize that it was Clinton that set up the secret rendition program where suspected terrorists were taken away and "questioned" without any oversight? Clinton also wiretapped citizens. Bush was doing it prior to 9/11. Neither party is looking out for your best interests.

"peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." - Thomas Jefferson - Inaugural address

There is a serious need for the Citizens to know, understand and heed the warnings of the Founders. The writings and speeches were not to politicians - they were to the citizens.

Can we get them to just read the Constitution to start with?

He talked today about the United States going it alone in foreign policy and slammed Obama for what he called internationalism.

McCain? Are you serious?

Quote:
“I have to convince them the consequences of protectionism and isolationism could be damaging to their future,” the McCain said Tuesday in Philadelphia, before departing for South America. “I understand it’s very tough. But for me to give up my advocacy of free trade would be a betrayal of trust. And the most precious commodity I have with the American people is that they trust me.”

Oops. I guess he has nothing left.

To be fair, the GOP used to want to leave the UN as we argued they served no good purpose given the veto power of some nations. We've seen it again with Russia/Georgia. So McCain seems to be taking the Conservative position in that depending on an international body to protect us is not working. That, if true, could be a significant change in McCain's policy.

Jonathan Martin's Blog: McCain takes after Obama in Legion speech - Politico.com
John McCain came very close Tuesday morning to outright questioning Barack Obama’s patriotism, painting his Democratic rival as a detached, cocksure candidate who believes too much in internationalism and not enough in the stand-alone strength of America.
