Carter: McCain 'milking' POW time - USATODAY.com

Whether or not you are going to vote for McCain, this remark by Carter is inexcusable. This from a man who denounced the Bush adminstration for refusing to accept Hamas (a known terrorist organization) as a legitimate governing body after the 2006 election on the Gaza strip. Then he proceeds to travel to the West Bank, embraces Nasser Shaer, and lays a wreath at the grave of Yasser Arafat. This is a group that has openly delcared their desire to wipe Israel off the map. And this man is upheld as a prominent mainstream figure in the Democrat party. He is an absolute disgrace.

I noticed you didn't address the argument that McCain is pushing the POW line every chance he gets????

Typical. You just attack the messenger.

BTW Jimmy Carter is a great honorable man. It takes a brave public figure not to just trip overthemselves giving into Israel's every demand. And rationalizing their bullying of Palestinians and neighboring countries.

BTW 64% of Israelies back talks/negotiations with Hamas

"This is a group that has openly delcared their desire to wipe Israel off the map."

This a typical argument from right wing Likudiks.

1) They find the most inciteful rhetoric and play it up. Ignoring the fact that Hamas has indicated it is willing to drop this language from their plank as part of negotiations.

Israeli leaders have referred to the Palestinian people as a whole as "grasshoppers". Going by your logic, are we to assume that Israel will treat the

Palestinians as insects good for extermination???

2) It assumes they have the ability to carry the threat out. (They don't)

I commend Jimmy Carter for being the only major political figure with the spine to call things as they truly are, and not regurgitate the same BS we hear from every other politician.

The elephant in the room of this election, is that fact that being a former POW doesn't in any way, shape, or form, qualify you to be president. But nobody else has the balls to say this, for fear of being called unpatriotic, and shunned by their party.

It would be one thing if McCain had any other respectable accomplishments to base his campaign on...but he doesn't. So he keeps pushing the POW line, because he has nothing else to base his candidacy on.

The only thing that's inexcusable, is the fact that the rest of the Democrats aren't speaking up about the fact that his POW experience is completely irrelevant.

What would you call a grown 43 year old man who has a crippled wife and three school age children who has an affair with a 25 year old girl, whom he later leaves his family for???

Would this rate a "scumbag" with you?

OH PLEASE! He most certainly wasn't--but for the record, his buddy Johnson is the one that incurred all that debt. Sheesh.
