She is a great candidate if we want to lose the election. Voters are not stupid and can obviously see that this candidate was pick to draw the Clinton voters to McCains side. This will mean Obama will probably win and our government will fail. So anyone know of any decent countries out there that are trying to become a socialist country? The US will fail as a socialist government because for socialism to suceed the country really needs to be in competition with other countries which the US is not. On top of that we are just to big and diverse a nation for it to actually work.

She isn't really fighting the oil companies, just taxing them. One of the reasons that oil companies are looking for new places to drill instead of drilling where they already have leases is because the taxes they have to pay to drill in Alaska are too high. The state can take as much as $49 of a $120 barrel of oil collected from state lands. ConocoPhillips estimated that Alaska was taking about 75% of the value of a barrel of oil when you figure for taxes and royalty payments.

It's been great for Alaska's coffers, but the rest of us are just stuck paying more at the pump.

She was picked for many reasons and the fact that she is a women is the least of them. She is pro-life and this was a must to carry the conservative vote. She has taken on unions, was a member of the union and her husband is a member of the unions. McCain needs to carry Michigan, Ohio and other union states to win and what better way than with a member? Romney was my choice, but he would be ripped apart in the union states with the economy right now...his chance is later. She has raised a son that will serve our country, and is one of the most popular Gov. of our largest state. She hunts moose, fishes, plays basketball and hockey and is fighting for less wasted spending. Obama is fighting to raise the taxes on those who employee us.
She will be able to run for office as a mother of 5 with few problems. A husband, nanny, housekeeper and tutor are all that is required.

You do know that her taxes on oil companies in Alaska are driving them to find places to drill outside of that state? Her taxes are costing Alaskan's jobs.
