California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer just issued this scathing release:

"The Vice President is a heartbeat away from becoming President, so to choose someone with not one hour's worth of experience on national issues is a dangerous choice.

"If John McCain thought that choosing Sarah Palin would attract Hillary Clinton voters, he is badly mistaken.

"The only similarity between her and Hillary Clinton is that they are both women. On the issues, they could not be further apart.

"Senator McCain had so many other options if he wanted to put a women on his ticket, such as Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison or Senator Olympia Snowe - they would have been an appropriate choice compared to this dangerous choice.

"In addition, Sarah Palin is under investigation by the Alaska state legislature which makes this more incomprehensible."

It's a sexist move at it's worst. This will only send those on the fence Hillary supporters over to Obama.

Yup, that's my take, too.

Boxer knows about investigations (ie.Illegal Check Cashing). Didn't seem to
stop her supporters from keeping her in office for eons..........
Might do the same magic for Palin.

LOL, so you think McCain chose her because she's being investigated? What an interesting strategy!

Oh, please. Boxer is just bitter.
If McCain had picked Kay Bailey Hutchison (my senator, btw) or Olympia Snow, they would have mocked the age of these ladies and tried to call them senile.

And, of course, she is ignoring the fact that Kay Bailey Hutchison has made it QUITE clear that she was not interested in the VP slot. She is planning to launch her campaign for Texas governor. Or maybe Boxer is just ignorant.

Sarah Palin is a lovely, composed, mature, moral and dignified woman compared to Barbara Boxer. I have lived in California for the past 22 years, and will not bother to waste bandwidth on Boxer's overwhelmingly negative characteristics, not the least of which is an obsession with keeping the murder of unborn children legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy that is exceeded perhaps by Barack Obama himself if not in sheer shrillness and obnoxiousness.

The people of Ca. seem to like Boxer just fine... She holds the record for the most popular votes in a statewide contested election in California, having received 6,955,728 votes in her 2004 reelection over Republican Bill Jones. Obviously you're in the distinct minority.

Barbara Boxer is the dimmest bulb in the Senate. Nobody cares what she has to say.

Sorry, that distinction goes to Washington's own little malignant dwarf, "Senator" Patty Murray.

(Defining Quote: "We've got to ask, why is this man (Osama bin Laden) so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries ... that are riddled with poverty? He's been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that. How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?" )
