As the father of a special needs daughter (autistic) I am glad to see someone who really understands, someone who knows the pain and frustration first hand might be placed in a position to make change happen. Not just any change but change that would matter. Obama and Binladen can talk all they want about what they have have done. I am here to tell you that the system has not changed and is not at all supportive and barely functional at best. They say they have made it better???? LOL NOT.

Palin 100 Obama 0
Gov. Palin has worked in industry, been a mayor and now governor. These are all positive leadership qualifications. As mayor and governor she has had administrative experience. This is not aquired by being a city council member[which she was] or by being an elected representative[as Obama has been, albeit campaigning for most of this time].
Also, cavorting with hate mongers - racial, anti-American, communist - does not give one presidential prerequisites.
Gov. Palin's accomplishments are real not fabricated. The more we learn about Obama, despite the lamestream media's attempts to hide the unreal Obama, the more we realize just how unsavory he is.

Do you REALLY believe that being the mayor of a town with a population of 6500 qualifies anyone for ANYTHING? Get real!
And frankly being a governor of a state of 800,000 people is really NOT impressive AT ALL.
Cut the nonsense already!

But being the governor of a state of 2,000,000 is? Because that is what Bill Clinton had to claim when he was elected President. Nonsense is as nonsense does....

Good lord, I am not rabidly against Palin, but let's get real here. The listing of her accomplishments by associating titles with duties which she has barely had even enough time to grasp, much less than actually experience is ridiculous and will not win an election. Then of course we have the super intelligent voting block that is all pumped up on Viagra over her. Yeah, that's how we should plan and vote for our future. Also, I don't buy into any of Obama's super hype and promises which can never realistically be fulfilled along with pumped up rhetoric on experience. The only thing which is certain is that 2008 sure does lack clear and positive choices from both sides of the aisle.

She will greatly help with the female vote
She mixes her young age in with McCain's older age to create a nice mix
She will solidify the conservative base, conservatives love her
If I can use more from other posters:
In charge of the National Security of the largest pipeline transporting 25% of our nation's oil
In charge of one of 120 fed. funded Counter Terrorism units in Alaska
In charge of Disaster 1 a unit that went to aid The World Trade Center
Union membership and took out "mob" union boss
A small town girl from a working family (What Obama and Biden are touting in their convention)
Here's more:
Stopped pork spending
Created a surplus and got rid of a deficit
Stood up against oil companies
Barack Obama -
Says he will end the Iraq war, give universal health care.....and keep taxes low
Gave some speeches somewhere
????????????????????????????????????????????
Who do you think is more qualified?

to add more, when she took office in Alaska, she let all of the Governor house staff go, saving Alaska quite a bit, she also does not use a driver, she drives herself to the office every day.

I know "present" used to go over big in homeroom when I was in school.

He only voted up or down on 55% of the bills that have been voted on since he became a US Senator. 55%. The other 45% he either wasn't there to vote or voted "present".
Would you hire someone who only does half their job? Would you expect to keep your job if your boss found out that you were only doing half the work?
He may have put his signature on a few bills, but that really doesn't mean anything. What should matter are the number of bills he personally wrote, which I believe can be counted on one hand, and more importantly, how many of those were passed. THAT is the measure of a senator's accomplishments.
Now, I read through this entire thread and found only one other person making the distinction I'm about to make - I'm kind of surprised, because it's a big deal.
Our system of government is set up with three branches, right? We all remember that from elementary school.
Obama (running for Pres) has limited experience in the legislative branch.
McCain (running for Pres) has extensive experience in the legislative branch.
Biden (running for VP) has extensive experience in the legislative branch.
Palin (running for VP) has limited experience in the executive branch.
Just to remind everyone, the President and Vice President are offices within the executive branch.
So on one ticket, we have two people with legislative experience. The one running for the #1 spot has limited experience.
On the other ticket, we have one person with legislative experience and one with executive experience. The one running for the #1 spot has extensive experience. The other ticket is also the only one with executive experience.
Play down Palin's experience as governor, mayor, etc all you like, but the simple fact of the matter is that she's the only person on either ticket with first hand experience in the executive branch of government.
And if you think running Alaska is an easy task just because it has a small population, I have a "bridge to nowhere" that runs through Brooklyn to sell you...

Palin initially expressed support for the bridge and ran on a "build-the-bridge" platform, AND kept the federal money.
