Palin was the mayor of Wasilla just 3 short years ago. Seems like she left the town a little present...a debt of $20 million. That works out, in a town of 5400, to approximately $3,700 per person.

she had much-needed roads built and the support of most every citizen to do so.
So it's ok for repubs to spend money as long as the citizens support it but God forbid a democrat do the same thing! It's nice to know Alaska is doing so well financially that their citizens can afford such an expense.

Suprisingly the dems are the fiscally responsible people. Republicans borrow everything and never want to do the responsible thing which is raise taxes on the wealthy to pay it back.
20 mil is nothing for a town of that size. I come from a town of 5000 and that amount of money is spent all the time on ifrastructure and improvements. And she does nothing without a commisions approval and hence the approval of the people.
She also slashed her own salary and reduce property taxes by 60%. Ill take that any day
