I have a lot of confidence that John McCain/Sarah Palin will win this election. I had almost no confidence before he picked her.

no more than when i fight
i take it step by step. skill and judgement determines outcome.
confidence in winning is meaningless.
confidence in right thinking and living in the moment is paramont.
i am confident that the american people have gotten a whole lot
smarter in 8 years.

Huck, love you guy, but I'm hoping that the American people will become much more informed during the next 60 days. Being smart is nothing if one lacks good judgment.

Before Friday, I would have said McCain had a 50-50 chance. Now, I think he will have a very solid showing.

Feel exactly the same...his pick has truly energized the base and will be the blowout factor in the race.

100% confidence in McCain/Palin.
Even the stupid question if Palin will be ready if McCain dies the first day in office can be answered like this: Obama will not be ready on day 143 (that is how many day he served so far as a senator....business days)......Palin is ready she has proven to have experience and have good judgment skills.
Both have a message and back up their plan...Obama has empty hot air and where is Obama's change.....him and Biden were in Washington...McCain beat him already with the change thing.....

In view of current economic conditions and general feelings concerning the Bush administration, it is hard to believe that the democrats have not been 20 points ahead in the polls over the past several months and now.
This indicates that the democrats/liberals do not fully understand the best of US traditions: personal, social and economic freedom and responsibility, pursuit of the American dream which is to be your own boss in an economically gainful activity (and not to be a home "owner" based on ridiculous promises of virtually free money or to expect handouts from big government).
I think a lot of productive people in the US realize that it is not too late to get back on track with economic policy, despite the value destruction caused by the Bush administration's flaming liberal monetary policy.
To be sure, with either McCain or Obama the suicidal monetary policy will continue, but at least with McCain we have a better chance of not exacerbating the situation with suicidal fiscal policy on top of that through a democrat-controlled Congress (even though Obama pays lip-service to mostly maintaining and slightly tweaking the Bush tax cuts).
Nonetheless, I still think it is 50-50, but the fact that it is even this close is a clear reflection of how the democrats/liberals misunderstand or, worse, depreciate traditional US values.
A lot will depend on how well Ms Palin defends these values in the debates with her VP candidate counterpart.
I would have preferred Mr Romney, but, unfortunately, red herring issues predominate in this country.
So be it. Neverthess, Ms Palin now has a chance to demonstrate what she is made of.
