My journalism degree turned out to be fairly useless, so I am impressed that someone with a journalism degree is actually candidate for vice president. Anyone know if that is a first?

lol... so we'll have her with her Journalism Degree from Idaho and McCain who graduated 894th out of 899 midshipmen at the Naval Acadamey. Didn't we learn enough from the last C student who ran the country?

Seems the Republicans are willing to go with "common sense" over education. Seems the Republicans are using the beer drinking comfort factor. Do either of them throw back Vodka, just in case the world changes?

Perhaps, but what about the other C student who was too incompetent to beat W in 2000?

Actually, Al Gore did have a journalism degree.

So do I and I've had great careers. I was a reporter, editor, PR/marketing director, and then got my teaching credentials and grad. degree to teach Literature. A journalism degree is a good basis for many things.

If I was interested in politics and had served in other elected offices, sure, why not? We have Hollywood ACTORS who are doing quite well for themselves in politics so why not journalists?

"In politics" is a far cry from a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Jackie Kennedy, Lady Bird Johnson and Dennis Kucinich all worked for newspapers. Dennis has a masters in journalism and almost killed himself on a bet. Jackie and Lady
Bird both did the "Inquiring Photographer" bit.

And, of course, Jesse Helms got his start on radio opposing integration but he never ran for president.
