Admit it, if God himself endorsed Barack Obama you would take issue with it. Politics is politics, and after Fox drawing lines in sand like a bully for months, Obama should be commended for walking over the line and facing the challenge. No one gets interviewed by Hannity, they get told what Hannity thinks, whether they are in agreement or not. Hannity is a bloviater. I do not agree with OReilly on most things, nor Beck, but they at least actually interview the people they ask on.

Read the Wolfson article in Vanity Fair; Roger Ailes and Murdoch themselves came to Obama and asked him to stop the boycott. A very long and cordial meeting according Ailes, who though he is a right wing hatchet man is also known to be fair and a man of his word.

Apparently they had a good airing of the issues; Hannity and O'Reilly constantly playing the "unamerican/traitor/bombthrower cards and attacking Michelle.

I swear the OP wrote this like Obama was somehow calling the shots over at Fox.

For months O Reilly has been bashing him even when Michelle the Victim said in her speech about KEEPING YOUR WORD. Then he showed the tape again where OBAMA shakes on it when O Reilly makes him.

Constantly.

Yes finally Barry can't ignore him anymore and must go on. Hillary went on right away a long time ago. It's called keeping your WORD....even when you have to be embarrassed into it.

I'm not questioning the interview, just the timing.

It bothers me that they are both using each other for transparent reasons. I'm just annoyed that O'Reilly is doing it Thursday at 8PM during the GOP convention.

I think Obama's finally agreed to go on since O'Reilly was due to air the "25-part" series on him. As Bill claimed, he wasn't doing something similar on McCain because McCain is willing to answer his questions.

Is it safe to assume to O'Reilly is scrapping it?

I don't know but I didn't think Obama had 25 parts to his 47 year old life. That's like, now we're going to cover Obama from the age of 1 - 2, tomorrow we'll look at THE TODDLER YEARS! My reaction to that announcement was what? 25 parts?

Well that's his time slot so .....it's funny though...hey if he does well it's a good thing for Obama.

I think the politics of desperation in ALL the past elections weren't so obvious to us because we weren't following every little single thing for 2 years. With Obama and Hillary everybody started caring (maybe) and the press was more aggressive.

I'm a political junkie and never remember anything as bad as this even during the Clinton Monica drama and we were paying attention alot. The internet wasn't what it is today though....

Jesse Jackson scandal of the baby thing was happening during a high profile time and it was a minor blip for a couple days and done. (as was alot of his credibility)

I guess Bill did not clear it with Republican base. Oops. Best parts, none of the party faithful in St Paul will be able to watch it, Obama will have heard what Gov Palin has to say, and Hannity did not get the interview!
