Lol! I mention corn chips because ethanol has driven the price of corn through the roof.

I hadn't heard this about Ford but GM must be doing about the same on their new ones. Since retirement, except for my wife's Pontiac minivan, I've sort of moved away from new vehicle purchases especially in my GM trucks which I prefer. Anymore I usually just find a good deal on a low mileage extra clean truck (dealer or private owner), drive it for a few years doing my own repairs and then buy another one. I am now in the mode of looking for a clean 1/2 ton replacement that I can tow with.

But to bring this back to the topic of the thread, I am a Republican in case driving clean used GM pickups trucks fits any sort of a political stereotype. I have, however, happily owned two Tacomas, a Camry, a Corolla, and a Mazda.

Can you define foreign cars? Are those the "American" auto makers that are building cars outside of the US or Japanese auto makers that are building cars in the US?
The Dodges and Fords we have are from Mexico.

Why are muscle cars outdated? Some of us live below our means and the gas prices have not really affected us.

?????? Who said anything about gas? Outdated as in they are not that popular anymore. I know they are trying to make a comeback with a new Camaro (that looks like an old Camaro) and they change the Mustang every few years (which is back to looking like the older ones) but I just don't see them that often.

If price is any indication of popularity, some 1960s/70s muscle cars are bringing well over $200,000. Someone obviously thinks they are popular.

Good. I plan on purchasing either the new Camao SS or Challenger R/T (six speed manuals, of course) and I don't want to see them everywhere I go.

But if I do, I'll just give 'em a thumbs up.

There are always going to be some areas of disagreement.

Can someone explain why we as Americans are becoming so different in or ways.
Are Republicans clinging to American valves while Democrats (maybe just Liberals) are trying to go European???

Seems like the more money people are putting into foreign cars, this is putting money into DICTATORS hands.
This reminded me of picture's my husband has with Palin on a Harley (American made) and Obama on a bicycle (made from China). Hmmm
