Oprah does command billions! Her own billions!
In no way, shape, or form is 'most powerful woman on television and is also one of the most influential women in the world' commensurate w/ steward of Alaska. The only one off subject is you since this is a given and not even the point. Subject is Oprah telling Palin no thanks so your argument is... 2 yr. Gov. Palin doesn't want the support because she's more powerful and influential by virtue of a state's geographical size and its multi billion dollar budget. Huuhh?

This post speaks volumes...
When you point a finger at somebody, you have three more pointing back at yourself.
Also, AGAIN, Oprah already said this story was not true. Yet another big fat REPUBLICAN LIE. Their goal: To spin "The unjust persecution Mrs Palin."

No, she's not. You make her sound like some majestic conqueror of a continent. I'm sure she's cool enough to get free Starbucks in Anchorage but if you asked a thousand people if they knew who she was prior to the nomination, in all likihood, the overwhelming majority would have no clue. That doesn't reek of 'powerful'... so sorry to burst your bubble. Oprah is more more known and a staple of American society and known throughout the world. I've listed all her statistics and some of her personal accomplishments so I don't really know why I'm rehashing this for you...

Now you're shortchanging her for helping some of the poorest countries on Earth. If anything, it should show you that she's not the socialist that you'd like to paint. So... don't you like her more for spending money overseas as opposed to 'wasteful socialist programs' here in the U.S.?

So now it's about me? Frankly, I don't think that being Governor of a state as remote and scarce of humans as Alaska for less than two years and then bragging about it while belittling a very popular Senator whom you are not even competing against directly (and community organizers around the country) is much to be proud of (or very tactful in acquiring swing voters). Now all this talk of sexism... it's ludicrous. She should aiming her rhetoric at Biden at the very least, or even better, discussing issues... or maybe just shutting her pie-hole like a good VP candidate, but she's already shown her true colors so, I really have little respect for her, and neither do many on both sides of the aisle. I also don't believe Pro-Life should extend to rape and incest nor should someone tout their opposition to earmarks when they've received quite a few (inc. the bridge to nowhere, which she KEPT), but that's neither here nor there, as this conversation has veered OT.

People starve and jobs are lost if a governor is incompetent...if Oprah has a bad day she can go get a manicure/pedicure/full massage and everything will be okay.
I don't take away from Oprah for doing help for Africa.....But she must have forgotten very very poor people live here also.

Or in the case of Palin's state, get attacked by vampires 30 days out of the year.
But of course, jobs are lost, people do starve (though not much of the latter in the U.S.), Palin does seem sort of incompetent to me, and this is all MOOT. It seems like you're trying to argue now that being a Governor commands more responsibility than being an insanely successful Business person. I beg to differ...
